Animal portraits

I love creating original portraits of the four-legged (or winged) members of a family.  I am also happy to create a custom illustration for your content.

You can choose an oil painting on wrapped canvas (can be displayed without a frame) or a work on paper. An original on archival paper can be either a pen and ink drawing or the drawing with watercolor highlights.

Pricing 

 $800 for a 12" x 12" or 8" x 10" original oil painting on gallery-wrapped canvas (unframed.) Deposit of $250 required to begin work*

$1400 for 20" x 20" or 18" x 24" original oil painting on gallery-wrapped canvas (unframed.) Deposit of $500 required to begin work*

 $200 for 5" x 7" pen and ink original (with some watercolor highlights if desired) on archival watercolor paper (unframed.) Deposit of $50 required to begin work*. 

 $350 for 8" x 10", "9 x 12" or 12" x 16" pen and ink original (with some watercolor highlights if desired) on archival watercolor paper (unframed.) Deposit of $100 to begin work*. 

 (*Balance on all types and sizes is due when the painting is completed.) 

Process 

I can work from your photographs, or if you are near the San Francisco area, I can take photographs for an additional $100.

 Usually I like to deliver oil paintings as soon as they are done, so recommend that you add varnish about 6 months after you receive your oil painting to keep it shiny and clean. You can bring it back to me for this service for an additional fee. (Learn more.)
